Prior to attending law school, Attorney Michael J. Sweeney was a residential mortgage loan originator in New York and New Jersey. He is a graduate of Gettysburg College and Quinnipiac University School of Law. Mike has been practicing in the areas of real estate, probate administration, trusts & estates, and business transactions since 1998. At present, he is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut, in both the state and federal courts, and is a Personal Family Lawyer licensed by the Family Wealth Planning Institute.
Attorney Sweeney has been a panelist for the American Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Seminar “Real Estate Financing Strategies.” He has also served as the New Realtor Orientation Speaker for Legal Agreements for the Midd-Shore Board of Realtors since 2002 and its successor, New Haven Middlesex Realtors. Mike has presented the following continuing education courses and specialty luncheon discussions for the Board of Realtors: “Listing and Buying Property in Probate”, “Short Sales: How the Mortgage Implosion has Changed the Way We Do Business”, “Home Inspection Risk Reduction”, and “The ABCs of Title Searching.”
